How to track your babe's room conditions when travelling
It's 11pm in an unfamiliar hotel room and you have no idea what the temperature is. Sound familiar? The environment changes every time you travel, but the confidence to dress your babe for sleep doesn't have to disappear with it.
Why away-from-home is harder
At home you get a feel for your nursery. On the road, every space is new, hotel aircon, a warm caravan, grandparents' spare room. You lose the baseline you'd built up.
What to check in an unfamiliar space
The same things you'd check at home: the temperature where your babe will sleep, and how humid the air is. Then dress them to suit it, just like normal, using our TOG guide if you want the quick version.
No WiFi, battery, portable
Away from home you can't rely on a network or a power point being where you need it. A monitor that runs on battery, works without WiFi, and packs into a nappy bag keeps doing its job anywhere.
Orbie travels with you
Orbie is built for exactly this. It's portable, works over Bluetooth without WiFi, and Sidekick (its handy clip) lets it move from the cot to the pram to the travel cot. It reads the new environment and suggests the layers wherever you are.
